Blogging will be light for the first part of this week. I’m going turkey hunting – the hunt will actually be filmed for an outdoor show and I’ll be interviewed about the research I’m doing on the historical ecology of wild turkeys in California.

How soon?
I’m back…took a nice tom turkey in Calaveras County in eastern California, thanks to some good guiding by members of the National Wild Turkey Federation. I have to say I’m hooked on turkey hunting – it’s like no other hunting experience…it’s also unclear to me why anyone thinks these birds are not native to Calilfornia.
